Bristol-based architects Quattro Design has extensive experience in green building design and specialises in housing, community, health and education projects. The firm's environmental policy delivers cost effective sustainable solutions, protecting the enviroment and producing buildings with lower running costs.
Quattro Design's award-winning Wellspring Healthy Living Centre in Barton Hill, Bristol, is a standard bearer for the future of sustainable community design. Situated in a 1960s estate which is badly in need of regeneration, the centre combines health facilities and arts programmes under a single roof and features natural resources and environmentally-friendly technology throughout. The building was constructed as part of the New Deal for Communities (NDC) initiative set up to improve the most deprived neighbourhoods in England. The project was driven by Community at Heart, a resident-led company, together with Healthy Places Happy People, which aims to provide green and healthy spaces in the Barton Hill area.
Geometry PR supported the project in the trade press, achieving coverage in construction, architecture, environmental and local government publications. This included by-lined articles focusing on the green design aspect as well as the community and financial benefits which this provides. Photography was key and inspiring images of the building's many original features were used extensively.
